Global Warming Meaning

World Wars were the epitome of destruction, killing billions of lives, destroying the property and law & order of a nation, the devastation was on the level of unseen and sympathy. It is often stated that world war III might take due to the scarcity of water, countries fighting to attain maximum and puresclt water resources under their supervision. People believe with the present climate condition; the world can exist to see such a haphazard. The Global Warming is the term used to describe the phenomenon of gradual increase in the average temperature of the earth’s atmosphere and its oceans, a change that is believed to be permanently changing the earth’s climate. It’s a gradually established theory by the scientist on their collection data and information over the duration of years. In the recent US election, there were several speculations the solidarity of this phenomenon of climate change. The current US president Donald Trump even tweeted “The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.” He gazes global warming as a Chinese hoax. Donald Trump was criticised and mocked for his tweet. While many others on this view the effects of global warming to be more substantial and rapidly occurring than the other do, the scientific consensus on climate changes related to global warming is that the average temperature of the earth has risen between 0.4 and 0.8 Celsius over the past 100 years.

Causes Of Global Warming

The occurrence of anything has cause to it, so has the global Warming. The Greenhouse effect, which all of us have studied in our schools is considered the leading cause of its occurrence. The Greenhouse effect is the process by which radiation from a planet’s atmosphere warms the planet’s surface to a temperature above what it would be without its atmosphere. What I tell you, Greenhouse effect is essential for human existence. But human activities like burning fossil fuels and deforestation i.e. clearing of forest have intensified the greenhouse effect. Therefore, leading to this phenomenon of global warming. Greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, ozone, CFCs, etc. have risen sharply in the atmosphere since 1958 an industrial revolution. The excess of anything is dangerous and harmful; same is the case with greenhouse gases. Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are long-lasting greenhouse gases; they don’t occur naturally in the atmosphere. They are synthetic compounds that originate from human sources, including aerosols, foaming agents, refrigerants and other applications. These the naturally occurring gases that pose no harm when they are in the balance. However, maintaining the natural balance is necessary to keep the earth’s temperature within a range that is viable for life. And when, these balancing forces or gases are present it excess, the system loses its stability, becomes unbalances and things start to go awry.

Effects of Globar Warming

There have several visible pieces of evidence which prove global warming and the major consequences. Warming oceans, they have absorbed 20 times more heat than the atmosphere, resulting in warmer oceans and its water. The shifting of atmosphere boundaries the most dangerous of all the consequences we might face because of global warming. The boundary of the lower atmosphere (Troposphere) that contains our weather has risen by more than 900 feet over a twenty year period of 1979-1999. The scientists have concluded that solar changes during the 1990s have caused both the stratosphere and troposphere to warm up. The depletion of the ozone layer which protects us from harmful UV rays has also impacted the atmospheric shifting of boundaries. The increase in greenhouse gas emissions causes the heat to remain trapped within the troposphere. These two phenomena are responsible for 80% of shifting, hence called tropopause shift upward. The climate change has resulted in the increase of surface temperature by 1.4F over the last century.

Conclusion on Global Warming

It’s our moral duty to protect the place we live in, to sustain it for our future generations. The way we’re dealing with it, like questioning the existence of the biggest enemy. The changes resulting from global warming may include rising seas levels due to the melting of the polar ice caps, as well as an increase in occurrence and severity of storms and other severe weather events. It won’t solve anything, some major steps and its strict implementation are need of the hour.
