USA PATRIOT ACT is an agreement and act of Congress that was signed into law by President George W. Bush on 26 October 2001. It comprises ten letters “U.S.A. P.A.T.R.I.O.T” which means “Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001”. The need of such act was felt after the 9-11 attacks i.e. September 11, 2001 attacks in America and 2001 Anthrax attacks, which were proved to be terrorist attacks and proved very fatal for the country and its people. Therefore Congress rushed to pass legislation in this regard. The Republican representative, Jim Sensenbrenner introduced H.R 3162 introduced a previously sponsored bill. On the next day i.e. 24 October 2001, this act was passed by the Senate.

The purpose of this act is to protect the country against terrorism and to eliminate terrorism activities. It works to save the rights of the people of USA and protect them. It is divided in to 10 titles which explain the purpose and responsibilities of this agreement.

All of the above mentioned tittles are actually the rules and regulations of the agreement which is called USA PATRIOT ACT. According to the above mentioned tittles, it is depicted that this ACT is for the protection of the country and save its infrastructure, independency, peace and power. The help of victims of terrorism is also a responsibility of the government according to the above tittles. This act is followed by providing domestic security for the citizens and for the places of national and international importance.

As it is depicted by the tittles of USA PATRIOT ACT, this act is totally in the favor of the country and its people as well as in the opposition of terrorism and terrorist activities; we may conclude that such acts and agreements should also be followed in regions. No doubt America is “Supporting” those countries who are affected by terrorism and facing harsh conditions but such countries also have to make such laws which can eliminate terrorist activities and discourage the helpers of terrorists.
